In the post-COVID world where hygiene is more important than ever before, we have the opportunity to create vibrant and inviting gaming environments that inspire confidence in our employees and customers. While concerns about cleanliness are valid, they ignite a call to action for us to embrace the concept of the ‘theater of clean.’ Cleaning the upholstery fabrics on casino chairs may seem challenging, but together we can tackle it head-on! The seat foam and fabric may hold onto dirt, sweat, food, drink, and other deposits, but that’s a chance for renewal. So…. let’s take action and transform the upholstery on our casino chairs into a fresh and welcoming space!
General cleaning instructions for gaming stools
There is a huge array of fabric and vinyl upholstery options available for casino chairs and attempting to list them all as well as how best to clean them, is an impossible task. Spills and stains do happen and removing them can be difficult. *
As a general rule of thumb, you should treat stains immediately before they become permanent. Use white towels, roller towel or an absorbent cloth to ‘blot’ the spillage. Keep blotting and changing the absorbent material until no more of the spillage or coloured matter is being removed.
1. Vinyl upholstery
Use clean water and a damp cloth to wipe away stains or spills. For more stubborn stains on the vinyl, a mild soapy detergent may be added. Use a soft microfiber cloth to gently clean the vinyl and avoid scratching it.
NOTE: If you clean vinyl with a chemical or alcohol-based cleaner, it destroys the plasticizer in the vinyl and makes it hard and brittle, causing it to crack and peel.
NEVER clean vinyl with harsh cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, alcohol or chemical cleaning agents!
2. Cleaning Gaming Stools with Leather upholstery
The term ‘leather’ is often used interchangeably with vinyl, but the two are quite different. What is the difference between leather and vinyl? As a standard, we upholster all black seats of our VIP gaming stools in genuine leather.
As with vinyl upholstery, leather should first be cleaned with clean water using a damp cloth to wipe away stains or spills.
Use a soft microfiber cloth to gently clean the leather and avoid scratching it. Make sure that you dry the leather thoroughly.
The next step is to use a leather cleaner and conditioner. Numerous types are available from the larger retailers like Coles and Woolworths. Follow the cleaning directions supplied with the leather cleaner.
3. Fabric upholstery
The variety of fabric upholstery options suitable for gaming stools is huge and trying to list how best to clean them all, is impossible. Always follow the manufacturers’ cleaning instructions. If none are available, then use the general guide to cleaning everyday stains on fabrics as suggested by Materialised.
Pre-test all solutions on an inconspicuous area. When using liquid cleaners, work from the outer ring of the stain toward the centre. Always rinse with clean water and blot dry to finish as detergent residue tends to attract soiling.
* If in any doubt, contact a cleaning specialist. Karo takes no responsibility for damage caused by using any of the above suggestions to clean your gaming stools.
